Hopi PTA Committee Sign Up
 

ADOPT-A-POT
Beautify our campus by planting pots outside
our classrooms and around campus.Families at
Hopi sign up to plant and maintain the pots.
Teachers and staff make sure they are watered.

ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE
This is a program based on receiving a grant.
Artists come in and work with 4th grade students.
Past artists have included African drummers,
storytellers and Chinese artists.

ART MASTERPIECE
Each month volunteers present a work of art
to students,discuss the style and artist and provide
hands-on opportunities.

BLOOD DRIVE
Hopi hosts a blood drive in the fall with United Blood Services.

BOOK FAIRS
Hopi puts on two annual book fairs. The
fall event includes new and gently used books
(about 20,000). Used books are donated by
students and the community and then sold
for a very nominal price.
The spring event is new books only.

COPY CATS

This is a group of volunteers which regularly assists teachers with copying, collating, laminating, etc.

CLASSROOM CREATIONS
Each classroom creates a project to be donated for
auction at the Hawktion.Parents are responsible for
coming up with an idea and collecting materials. They
coordinate efforts with the classroom teacher and
students.

CHILI DINNER
In conjunction with the Fall Book Fair, the PTA puts
on a family friendly chili dinner. Volunteers are
needed to help plan and execute this fun event.

COLONIAL DAY
Each year the 5th grade studies American history
and culture.The highlight of these studies is Colonial
Day.The entire 5th grade (along with teachers
and parent volunteers) dresses in colonial attire
and spends the day engaging in activities like
candle-dipping,needlepoint and making corn-husk dolls.
Some kids are even sent to the stocks! This event is
held in December.

DAD'S CLUB
A group of Hopi dads who have been instrumental in
bringing tremendous technology upgrades to our school.
An adults only bowling night is their major fundraiser.

eSCRIP
Hopi supporters may register various cards and help
Hopi raise funds. Last year we raised over $20,000
for Hopi just by having families register their
Safeway cards.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT
A fun evening of bingo for the whole family. Dinner
is available for purchase.

FIELD/FUN DAY
In the spring, our PE teachers organize activity days.
Field Day involves grade appropriate track and field
games and races. Fun Day is the K-2nd grade
equivalent with less emphasis on competition
and more emphasis on fun.

                  


FIRST FRIDAY
A new community event held the first Friday of every month before school. Parents are invited to socialize in the courtyard and purchase new breakfast items from the "cart." This will also be Spirit Day for the students (I.E., crazy hat day, wacky socks day, etc.)

5th GRADE LEADERSHIP SERVICES
Throughout the year, motivational speakers give lectures to 5th grade students.

FUTURE TITAN NIGHT
All "future" Arcadia High School students are invited to attend a special home football game in October and a basketball game in January.

GREEN COMMITTEE
A new committee educating and promoting green practices for our community and world.


HAWKTION
The annual school auction is our largest fundraiser.  Many volunteers are needed in a variety of efforts and time commitments to help ensure the success of this fun and major event.     

HOLIDAY CARE DRIVE
Every December Hopi picks a program to support during the winter holiday season. We hold a one-week drive to collect items like food, clothing and hygiene items.

HONORS RECOGNITION
4th and 5th grade students who make the Honor Roll or Principal's List are recognized by the administration during their lunch period.

HOPI HIGHLIGHTS
A weekly publication sponsored by the PTA that is distributed every Monday. It's the best way to find out what's happening at Hopi. This year Hopi Highlights goes digital and will be sent via email. Hard copies will be available per request.

HULLABALOO
This is our annual spring carnival and fun for the whole family.

PEACE PATROL
This program allows 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students to help manage conflicts on the primary playgrounds. Students are selected by their teachers and serve on a rotating basis throughout the semester. They receive training through our SPI counselor prior to serving.

SCHOOL FUSION
A password protected website where you can keep track of your student's test scores, class website, calendars and more. This is where our Hopi Family Directory is located.

THANKSGIVING FEAST
On the Thursday prior to Thanksgiving, parents are invited to share in a feast with their kids in the school cafeteria.

VARIETY SHOW
Our annual talent/variety show is famous in the valley. Everyone is invited to be a part and teachers may even join the fun.
